Adult/Child Project Classes--Project classes are classes in which an entire project is completed in one day (not to be confused with monthly classes – see below). These classes vary in cost and in complexity. Some beginner sessions are required before you may take a more difficult class. Project classes must be paid for in advance. Please send in registration form with payment to reserve your spot. Cancellation policy below applies to project classes.
Class Sessions and Fees (This is for monthly ongoing classes – not project classes) Sew It Seamz classes follow closely with the local school districts school calendar. Classes begin in September and go through April. A nonrefundable pattern packet fee of $30 is required for children’s sewing classes at the beginning of the Fall session. Tuition is $40 per month due on or before the first class each month throughout the session. Students are responsible for supplies for each project. A supply list will be provided in advance to starting project. Some projects take several classes to complete depending upon complexity.Payment may be paid by cash, check or credit card thru Paypal. Parents may send payment with students to class. You also have an option to have automated payments by Paypal. It is not necessary to have a Paypal account to use this method. Checks can be made out to Sew It Seamz.

Attendance Policy/Makeup classes
Classes are held every Friday, each class is one hour. If your child will be late or will miss a class, please call or email as soon as possible before your class day. There are no makeup sessions. Please make it a priority to make it to all classes. We will work with you in certain cases - ONLY in the event of emergency or illness and ONLY when prior notice is given before the missed class. No makeup sessions are available for no-shows.
If additional class time is necessary to complete a missed project, it can be arranged for $20 per hour scheduled.
Sew It Seamz uses age appropriate sewing texts and patterns for classes. It varies between children’s classes and adult classes. Please remember that your child is LEARNING how to sew. Their stitches will most likely NOT be perfect or meet the standards of store bought items. In their eyes, however, they will be extremely proud of what they have made. Please support your child as we do in the classroom with words of encouragement. Also, not everyone LOVES every project, but remember it is not about the project but learning the skills thru the projects.
Sewing Machines and Tools:
Sew It Seamz will provide sewing machines and tools for all class projects.
Fabric and Supplies:
The Fabric and notions (buttons, zippers, thread, etc..) are purchased by the student separately at a fabric store. Part of the sewing process is learning to choose fabrics and coordinating fabric and notions that go along with that project. Children participating in sewing class should accompany their parents to purchase their supplies. Prior to each project, students will be instructed on appropriate fabric for their next project and a supply list will be provided to parents.***** When purchasing fabric for children’s projects, purchase cottons, cotton blends, soft denim, wool blends or flannel unless pre-approved by instructors. Do not purchase any stretchy or slick fabric. Also, since your student is LEARNING, please avoid purchasing very expensive fabric. A limited amount of cotton fabrics will be available for purchase at the sewing classroom. If you have any questions please contact us. All fabric should be preshrunk prior to class. This is done by following the care instructions on the printed end of the bolt in the store. Most of the time you will wash, dry and iron fabric. Please do not bring extremely wrinkled fabric to class. Creating clothing with fabric not preshrunk will result in clothing not fitting after you wash.
Please remember that when you register you are signing up for the entire September through April. If you do plan not to return after the Christmas holidays please give a 30-day notice.Cancellation policy above applies to all classes.
